LOUISE SLOAN
web design
I designed a portfolio site for editor and writer Louise Sloan . . . a long time ago. She’d already had an impressive career. An activist/journalist cum award-winning editor, she’d recently served as Editor-in-Chief of Amex Custom Publishing. She’d soon become a bestselling author for her book on single parenting, Knock Yourself Up (Penguin Books), as well as a Senior Editor at Ladies Home Journal. I designed her site with shelter magazines and laptop screens in mind (“above-the-fold” sites being a thing at the time).
SINGLE WITH
swiss army knife
Louise wanted to create an online magazine/community for single parents. She also wanted to explore building an associated single parent dating site. I helped brand the enterprise, naming it SingleWith, and created its logo, then built and launched the site, suppling copywriting and additional graphic design (banner ads, logo animation, etc.). I also prototyped the dating site.
